Why divorce rates are lower in India?
India is a country where the rate of divorces are very low instead of westernization. Here rate of divorce is less than 1%.
The more astonishing fact is that what are the reasons which make Indian marriages so lean towards the divorces.
One reason can be this that India is a country of agriculture and villages. Women are still considered to have low voice in family. It still indicates patriarchy in society.
In an Indian family, a person still considers the family happiness more important than his/her own. To take divorce is considered the biggest reason of bad reputation for an Indian family.
Taking divorce is not an easy process in India. It takes years in Indian courts to execute a divorce case. It takes a huge amount of money and time.
One more reason is the presence of religion. Here marriage is considered as a principal sacred relation from the ancient time so the divorces are considered bad in Indian culture.
